Medications flushed down the toilet or poured down the drain find their way into the environment through the waste stream, so please dispose of unused medications responsibly this Saturday, Oct. 27, during National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day.
Last April’s drug take-back event saw 4,182 pounds of prescription medications disposed of at 17 sites across Alaska, according to The Anchorage Fire Department.
You can drop them off at the select Fred Meyer locations listed above, the Providence Health & Services Alaska pharmacy, and the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium's Healthy Communities Building.
Thanks for doing your part to protect our water and the environment!
