AWWU provides tours to both its Eagle River and Girdwood Wastewater Treatment Facility. Utility representatives can also be scheduled to speak before interested groups about AWWU operations.

AWWU’s Administrative Services and Public Outreach Coordinator (POC) is the point of contact for all facility tour requests, tour information, and speaker requests. Contact the Administrative Services at (907) 786-5636 or by email at info@awwu.biz.
It is the Utility’s intent to provide for the highest level of safety and site security during group tours and public available events.
Tour participants are required to provide a signed tour consent form and release to the Utility at least one week prior to a tour. Each tour participant (except minors) must bring a qualifying picture ID at the tour site on the day of the tour. Any individual not listed on the roster may be asked to leave the facility.
Participants are required to dress appropriately and follow all Utility requirements, including, but not limited to, appropriate clothing, footwear and behavior while at a treatment facility.
AWWU's Administrative Services Division will provide tour orientation information and scheduling of tour request. All requests for tours will be evaluated and every attempt will be made to accommodate requests within operational requirements.
Tour participants will be required to provide information for a Utility Tour Roster Sheet and a signed Release of Liability Agreement.
