Kurt Egelhofer is a retired professional mechanical engineer and environmental scientist.  With over 30 years of professional experience, he has worked for a variety of public and private employers in Alaska since 1978.  Most of his career was at the State of Alaska, where he traveled to many rural communities to plan, design, construct, and operate community water, sewer, and solid waste systems and facilities.  He was Director of Operations & Maintenance at AWWU from 2003 until his retirement in 2013.  He was recently appointed to the Member Advisory Council at Chugach Electric Association.  Since retirement, Kurt has traveled extensively to other states and countries around the world.  He very recently welcomed his first grandson into the world, who lives with his parents near Portland, Oregon.
